In 2003-2004, the City of Colorado Springs purchased the property now known as Red Rock Canyon Open Space and held a series of public meetings to help create a master plan for the property. Medicine Wheel members participated in the master planning process, with the end result that over 85% of the trails in the park are open to mountain bikes. In addition, the master plan calls for a freeride/skills park area set aside just for bikes.

The main entrance to Red Rock Canyon is located south of West Highway 24 and Ridge Road, near the border with Manitou Springs. The main parking lot is to the left as you turn in to the park. The skills park area is to the southeast of the east end of the parking lot.
All volunteers are welcome, and no prior experience with trail building or construction is necessary. Do bring work gloves, drinking water, and wear suitable work clothes.
This schedule is subject to change, so for the most up-to-date information please Sign Up for the RRC e-mailing list above.
In addition to our trail work projects, please visit our fellow trails advocates at Friends of Red Rock Canyon. FORRC will be sponsoring several trail work projects in the park and needs volunteers.
