The Medicine Wheel chapter of the National Mountain Bike Patrol provides assistance to hikers, equestrians, and all trail users, especially mountain bikers. Patrollers are ambassadors who:
Enforcement is not a function of the mountain bike patrol. Medicine Wheel Patrollers are all volunteers working with the approval of the land agencies where they patrol and are members of the IMBA National Mountain Bike Patrol.
Patrol areas are all around the Pikes Peak region where biking is allowed, including Palmer Park, Ute Valley Park, Monument Valley Park, North and South Cheyenne Canon Parks and the Stratton Open Space. Bike patrols help keep trails open.
The next meeting of the Patrol will be announced through the bike patrol group email list.
The patrol is riding throughout the winter. Go to the list to find out more.
Training classes for patrollers will be held periodically. Future classes will be scheduled as needed. A class in on-the-trail bike repair is being scheduled and will be coming up soon. Small group training scenario rides will be starting soon as well.
